Tuessday 31st January - Menu

Hi all,

I've not been able to get any tuna this morning unfortunately so I will use salmon instead. I have also not received any reservations for this evening yet, so the cut off time will have to be 2pm which is the latest I can go prior to cancelling the evening.

Starters:
Roasted red pepper and tomato soup
Greek salad
Chorizo risotto

Mains:
Seared Salmon on a bed of salad leaves
Chicken Balti with rice and naan bread
Sausage cassoulet

Dessert:
Sticky toffee pudding with cream or ice cream

Tuesday 31st January - Provisionary Menu

Seared Tuna on a bed of salad leaves (dependant on availability)
Spicy lamb meatballs in tomato soup with tagliatelle

Sunday 29th January - Menu

Hi all,

The Sunday roast menu has developed to include a dessert of the day and tea or coffee.

The menu for tomorrow will be:

Roast Beef and Yorkshire pudding, or,
Roast Chicken and stuffing
Served with:
Roast potatoes, Carrots, Peas, and gravy
Syrup sponge and custard
Tea or Coffee
£8.00

See you all tomorrow, should be a good day for sailing with a wind speed of 19knots from the ENE.

Tuesday 25th January - Menu

Hi all,

The bistro night is back again tomorrow night and the menu is very much a European fusion:

Starters:
Homemade Vegetable soup
Garlic Wild Mushrooms
Greek Salad

Mains:
Lamb shank in a red wine and rosemary sauce
Fisherman's pie

Desert:
Panna cotta with a raspberry coulis
Apple crumble and custard

Sunday 22nd January

Hi all,

Early start next Sunday so an even earlier start for me! The kitchen will be open as usual 2 hours before the start so I'll be at the club from 0700 for all those early birds.

This week’s inaugural Sunday roast went down well so it will be more of the same with the addition this week of pudding! Let me know your favourite pudding when you make your reservation and I will provide the most popular ones.

Roast Chicken and stuffing
Roast Potatoes
Carrotts
Peas
Gravy

Also, Tuesday night is bistro night where I'll be doing 3 courses plus coffee for £12.50 so get your reservations in early!

Sunday 15th January - Sunday Roast

Hi all,

Thanks to all that came last night! I had a really good night and from all the laughter coming from the tables everyone else did too.

There are going to be a few amendments to next weeks format as there is a rules night that starts at 7pm for which I will be serving hot pot. I'll keep you posted but it looks like a curry night.

The start time for this Sunday's roast dinners has been brought forward to 12pm so the race officers can enjoy their lunch prior to running the racing. Reservations are now being taken between 12 and 3.

Menu:
Roast Beef and Yorkshire puddings, or,
Roast Chicken and stuffing
Roast Potatoes
Carrotts
Peas
Gravy

If a vegetarian alternative is required please advise when making your reservation.

So the final menu for tonight will be:

Pork Noisettes with Prunes
Pan Fried Sea Bass
Poached Salmon with Parsley sauce

Chocolate Genache.

I'm going to do a special introductory offer of 3 courses for £12.00 and I only have 8 seats remaining!

Reservations came in thick and fast at sailing today, just 12 seats remaining for the first outing of "Dan's Cafe" (att:Malcom Marsden).

So this is the first of many blogs I intent to write to keep you up to date with what is happening in the club kitchen.

Sailing Sundays
The yacht club kitchen will be open 2 hours prior to the race start times.
Breakfast:
Bacon / Sausage / Egg Barm £1.50
2 of the above £2.00
3 of the above £2.50
Full English £3.50
2 bacon, 2 sausage, 2 eggs, tomato, beans, buttered toast.

Every Saturday / Sunday Lunch:
Beef Stew (Hotpot) served with bread roll £3.00
Soup of the day served with bread roll £2.00

Sunday Roast £8.00 (from 15th Jan)
Reservation only, served from 1300.
Including Roast meats, roast root veg, seasonal veg, yorkshire pudding, gravy.

Tuesday 10th January
This will be the start of my weekly restaurant night at the club. It is a reservation only service providing food from 1800 to 2000 (last orders 1930). I will start with 2 starters and 2 main courses and build as more and more people take part. The menu is restricted so I can ensure the freshest products are served from the kitchen. I will be visiting the farm shops I know and Fleetwood dock to purchase top quality produce. Check out this blog to find out what is on offer, then
